Check the delivery offer on your actual Taobao order for Austria, then decide whether to keep it, arrange China forwarding or ask for buying help before paying.

For Taobao delivery to Austria, check the exact items and your real Austrian address at checkout. If a usable delivery offer appears, keep it while you check its scope. If none appears, confirm item acceptance and an available Austria route before switching to a China warehouse. This does not establish universal Taobao coverage; options can vary by order and account. The direct-order guide covers the account and checkout screens.

Can this purchase produce evidence the Austrian handling party can use?
Before paying, ask who will handle the Austrian import and what genuine, itemized purchase evidence you will receive. If Österreichische Post handles it, its value-evidence rules exclude Chinese-script documents and proforma invoices. It asks for an invoice, or order confirmation with payment proof, and individual prices for multiple goods.
That changes what to ask a Taobao seller or buying service now: can it supply an authentic record identifying your selected goods, quantities and prices, connected to the actual payment? Keep the Chinese originals. Where a translation or additional document is needed, confirm acceptance with the Austrian handling party; do not assume an automatic translation will suffice or manufacture a replacement invoice.
If an agent buys for you, ask how your payment connects to the underlying seller purchase and which records can be supplied. If you buy yourself, keep that evidence in your own account. Save refunds and substitutions against the affected items. The aim is to establish whether the purchase can be documented before you commit, rather than discover a missing record after export.
Who will charge for each part of the Austria delivery?
Ask the service quoting Austria delivery to name the parties responsible for freight, import clearance and destination billing. “Tax included” needs a written explanation of which charges are included and which could still be collected from you.
Austria's standard import VAT rate is 20%, with product exceptions. Under the applicable B2C distance-sale rules, the EUR 3 low-value duty introduced on 1 July 2026 applies per declared goods position in qualifying consignments with an intrinsic goods value up to EUR 150. The Union Handling Fee, introduced on 1 November 2026, is EUR 2 per position and generally has no EUR 150 ceiling. One consolidated box can contain several positions.
IOSS concerns qualifying sales with an intrinsic goods value up to EUR 150: the relevant seller or platform must collect VAT and transmit valid information to the declaration. Forwarding alone does not create that treatment. Ask who can confirm the actual arrangement; a freight quote is not evidence of platform VAT collection.
Keep postal or courier service charges separate from these government charges. Ask who bills each remaining amount and when. Freight can also affect the applicable tax base: the EUR 150 intrinsic-value threshold is not a total landed-cost limit. Use the Austria charge categories explained with Pinduoduo purchases for cost planning, and the Taobao freight calculation guide for packed-weight comparisons. Neither establishes Taobao delivery availability.
Leave the purchase unapproved if these answers are missing
Before authorizing payment, keep a short reply from the seller or service identifying:
- the actual Austria delivery offer or proposed route, with its scope and charging parties;
- the genuine purchase and payment records available, and who will retain them;
- any unresolved product restriction or document requirement that could prevent import.
For batteries, liquids, food, medicines, plants, animal-origin goods or regulated electrical and wireless products, give the actual handler the exact product details before buying. Ask what product-specific documents are required. A transport acceptance, CE mark or seller certificate does not establish Austrian import approval; resale needs a separate importer review.
Ask YDA Express for available China-side records, agreed visible checks or a route enquiry when those are the services you need. Photos cannot certify authenticity. YDA cannot decide Austrian import permission or guarantee evidence acceptance, taxes or release. Check the actual goods at arrival and reconfirm current rules, the route and final quote before dispatch.
