Pinduoduo sellers commonly deliver within China rather than directly to France. This guide explains how to use a China warehouse, match and inspect parcels, prepare a complete French address, understand chargeable weight, screen restricted goods, and plan for VAT, IOSS, customs duty and final delivery.
Pinduoduo is primarily built for domestic shopping in China, so a buyer in France should not assume that every seller will accept a French address or arrange international delivery. The practical route is usually to send each order to a China warehouse or purchasing agent, match the domestic parcels to your account, check the goods, and then create one international shipment to France.
This process is manageable, but the final quotation is not just the product price plus one shipping fee. You need to plan the warehouse address, French delivery details, chargeable weight, restricted goods, VAT, customs duty and the way taxes will be collected.
1. Can Pinduoduo ship directly to France?
Some individual sellers may offer special arrangements, but international delivery is not a standard option that you should rely on across Pinduoduo. Most listings are designed for a Chinese mobile number, domestic payment flow and delivery to an address in China.
For a predictable workflow, use the warehouse address assigned to your account. If you need help purchasing, a shopping agent can place the order. If you can buy independently, you may only need parcel forwarding. These are different services, so confirm which fees apply before ordering.

2. Enter the China warehouse address correctly
A China warehouse address normally includes the recipient name or warehouse code, province, city, district, street address and a Chinese telephone number. The personal warehouse identifier is important because several customers may receive parcels at the same building.
Copy every field exactly as provided. Do not translate the address into English, shorten the customer code or replace the warehouse telephone number with a French number. After placing the order, save the Pinduoduo order number and domestic tracking number. Pre-alerting the warehouse, when available, makes matching easier.

3. Prepare a complete French delivery address
For delivery in France, provide:
- the recipient’s full legal name;
- a reachable telephone number and email address;
- apartment, floor, building or access information when relevant;
- street number and street name;
- the five-digit postal code followed by the full city name;
FRANCEas the destination country.
La Poste recommends ordering address information from the recipient name down to the municipality, using no more than six lines, and writing the five-digit postcode clearly. A missing apartment number, wrong postcode or unreachable telephone number can cause a failed delivery or return.

4. Actual weight and dimensional weight
International carriers may charge by actual weight or dimensional weight, whichever is higher. Actual weight is what the packed carton weighs on a scale. Dimensional weight converts the carton’s length, width and height into a billable weight using the carrier’s divisor.
Shoeboxes, retail cartons and loosely packed clothing can make a parcel much larger without adding much actual weight. Consolidation can reduce empty space, but removing every box is not always safe. Tell the warehouse which retail packaging must be kept, which items are fragile and whether separate parcels may be combined.

5. Check batteries, liquids, cosmetics and branded goods before buying
Do not assume that a product accepted by a Pinduoduo seller is automatically accepted by an international carrier or by EU authorities.
- Batteries and electronics: built-in and loose lithium batteries may require a special route, documentation or protective packing. Some routes do not accept them.
- Liquids and aerosols: leakage, pressure and dangerous-goods rules may limit available services.
- Cosmetics: ingredients, alcohol content, aerosols and EU product-compliance requirements can affect acceptance and import clearance.
- Branded goods: customs or the carrier may request evidence of purchase or authenticity. Counterfeit goods must not be shipped.

6. VAT, IOSS and the new €3 low-value customs duty
VAT applies to imported goods from the first euro. IOSS is an optional VAT collection system for qualifying distance sales of non-excise goods in consignments not exceeding €150. When a valid IOSS number is correctly transmitted in the customs declaration, VAT is normally collected at checkout by the responsible seller or platform instead of being collected again at import.
Do not assume that a Pinduoduo purchase routed through a separate warehouse is covered by IOSS. Ask who is responsible for VAT, whether an IOSS number is valid for the transaction, and how it will be transmitted to the customs declarant. If the shipment is outside IOSS or the data is incomplete, VAT and carrier administration charges may be collected before delivery.
There is also an important 2026 change. Since 1 July 2026, the EU has replaced the former customs-duty relief for e-commerce consignments up to €150 with a temporary €3 customs duty. The official EU guidance explains that the charge is applied per tariff-classification item, not simply per parcel or per physical unit. Five identical T-shirts classified together may produce one €3 charge, while a T-shirt and a watch in the same parcel may produce two €3 charges. The temporary measure is scheduled to apply until 1 July 2028.
Therefore, the old statement “orders below €150 are duty-free” is no longer correct for these distance-sale imports. VAT and customs duty are separate charges, and restricted or excise goods follow additional rules.
7. DDP versus taxes collected on arrival
With a DDP-style quotation, the logistics provider arranges delivery with stated duties and taxes included or billed to the shipper under the quoted conditions. Confirm exactly what is included: import VAT, the temporary customs duty, customs declaration, carrier handling and any remote-area charge.
With DAP or another unpaid-tax arrangement, the recipient may need to pay VAT, duty and carrier clearance fees before delivery. A low initial freight quote can therefore be different from the final landed cost.
Neither option removes the need for an accurate goods description, value, quantity and tariff classification. Ask for the service terms in writing before dispatch.
8. What happens after customs clearance in France?
After import clearance, the parcel enters the carrier’s French delivery network or is handed to a local delivery partner. Tracking may change format after the handover. Keep the recipient’s phone available, monitor requests for tax payment or documents, and respond promptly.
Apartments, access codes and pickup-point preferences should be supplied before dispatch where the route supports them. Delivery estimates are not guarantees; customs review, incomplete data, peak-season volume, weather and local delivery attempts can all affect timing.
A practical order-to-delivery checklist
- Confirm that the product category is accepted before buying.
- Copy the assigned China warehouse address and customer code exactly.
- Save the Pinduoduo order and domestic tracking numbers.
- Request the level of warehouse checking you need.
- Wait until the intended parcels arrive before consolidation.
- Provide a complete French address and reachable contact details.
- Review packed dimensions, actual weight and chargeable weight.
- Confirm VAT, IOSS eligibility, customs duty and DDP/DAP terms.
- Approve the route only after the goods declaration and total quotation are clear.
- Monitor customs and final-mile tracking until delivery.
For most French buyers, the safest approach is to treat the China warehouse and the France import stage as two separate decisions: first make sure the correct goods reach the warehouse, then select a compliant route based on the final packed parcel.
