Confused by Pinduoduo tracking updates such as processing for dispatch, in transit to the destination country or customs declaration complete? Learn what each stage usually means, what it does not confirm, and when to contact the seller, warehouse or carrier.

A Pinduoduo status such as “processing for dispatch,” “in transit to the destination country,” or “customs declaration complete” describes a stage—not a guaranteed delivery date. First identify which tracking number and carrier produced the update. Then check whether the parcel is still moving inside China, waiting at a forwarding warehouse, travelling internationally, under customs processing, or already with a local delivery carrier.

This guide is for overseas Pinduoduo shoppers who have already placed an order and need to decide whether to wait, contact the seller, check with a China warehouse, or respond to a carrier.

Start with the correct tracking number

One Pinduoduo purchase can create more than one shipment record:

  • The seller may issue a Chinese domestic tracking number.
  • A warehouse or forwarding company may create a separate package record after receipt.
  • International dispatch normally creates another tracking number.
  • A destination postal or courier network may add a local reference.

Do not assume every number shows the whole journey. Compare the carrier name, destination and latest scan time. Keep a screenshot of the Pinduoduo order page and record the order number, seller, parcel count and each tracking number.

If the seller is sending to a China forwarding address, the Pinduoduo warehouse guide explains what should happen between seller delivery, warehouse receipt, inspection and consolidation.

“Seller has shipped” or “collected by carrier”

This normally means the seller has created or handed over the domestic parcel. It does not confirm that the China warehouse has received the goods or that international shipping has started.

Check three things:

  1. Is there a first physical carrier scan rather than only a label or order record?
  2. Does the destination match your assigned China warehouse?
  3. Did the seller split the order into several parcels?

Contact the seller when the domestic number has no carrier scan, points to the wrong destination or remains unchanged beyond the domestic carrier’s normal estimate. Contact the warehouse only after the carrier shows delivery or a delivery attempt at the warehouse address.

“Processing for dispatch”

This wording usually indicates preparation for the next transport stage. The parcel may be assigned to a route, labelled, grouped with other shipments, checked for export readiness or waiting for the next carrier handoff.

It does not necessarily mean the parcel has boarded an aircraft, vessel or truck. A real departure is better supported by a later carrier scan naming a departure gateway, transport movement or handoff.

Before waiting, confirm that:

  • The international shipment has actually been approved and paid.
  • The declared contents and recipient details are correct.
  • No restricted-item or packaging question is waiting for your response.
  • The tracking page names the carrier that will handle the next stage.

“In transit to destination country”

This generally means the shipment is moving through the international network toward the destination. It is a milestone, not live GPS. The parcel may be inside a carrier facility, waiting for scheduled transport, travelling between gateways or waiting for the next scan.

FedEx’s published tracking guidance similarly notes that “in transit” does not always mean a parcel is physically moving at that moment; it can be at a carrier facility. Long routes and customs handoffs can also produce gaps between scans.

Do not open a loss claim only because the status has not changed for a short period. Instead, compare the last scan with the carrier’s current estimate and check whether the same number works on the destination carrier’s website. If the expected checkpoint passes with no new event, ask the shipping provider which carrier currently has custody.

“Customs declaration submitted” or “customs declaration complete”

These phrases require careful reading. A declaration update may mean shipment data has been prepared or transmitted for customs processing. It does not automatically mean the goods have been released by customs.

The Universal Postal Union’s customs overview explains that postal operators and customs authorities can exchange advance shipment data before a parcel arrives. A declaration-related event can therefore appear while the physical parcel is still travelling.

Look for a separate event such as:

  • Customs cleared
  • Released from customs
  • Import clearance completed
  • Handed to the destination carrier

DHL’s customs guidance distinguishes an updated clearance status from a shipment that has actually been released. Customs processing may involve document review, inspection, valuation, duties or a request for more information.

If the carrier asks for an invoice, product description, identity information, permit or duty payment, follow the request through the carrier’s official channel. Do not send documents or payment to an unverified message sender.

Status meanings and official carrier guidance were checked on 22 September 2026. Exact wording and required actions can vary by carrier and destination.

“Customs cleared” or “released from customs”

This usually indicates that the shipment has passed the stated customs stage. It still does not mean the parcel is out for delivery.

The next steps may include:

  • Transfer from the customs gateway to a carrier facility.
  • Payment confirmation for duties or handling charges.
  • Handoff to a postal or courier partner.
  • Sorting for the recipient’s region.
  • Scheduling the final delivery.

If the status says “cleared” but there is no local-carrier scan, check for a new tracking number or ask the international carrier which delivery partner received the parcel.

“Arrived at local facility” and “out for delivery”

“Arrived at local facility” normally means the parcel has entered a destination sorting or delivery network. “Out for delivery” is a later stage showing that the parcel has been assigned for a delivery attempt.

Before the final attempt, verify:

  • The recipient name, telephone number and postal address.
  • Any building, unit or access instructions.
  • Whether duties or fees remain unpaid through an official channel.
  • Whether someone must be present or provide identification.

A delivery attempt, address exception or collection notice requires faster action than an ordinary transit scan.

Who should you contact?

Use the party that controls the current stage:

  • Seller: no domestic pickup, wrong item shipment, split parcel or incorrect China address.
  • Pinduoduo after-sales: seller dispute, cancellation or refund tied to the original order.
  • China warehouse or purchasing agent: parcel shows delivered but is not matched to your account, inspection is pending, or international dispatch has not been approved.
  • International carrier or forwarding provider: shipment has an international number but stalls, shows an exception or needs customs information.
  • Destination carrier: local delivery, address, collection or final-mile issue.

If direct Pinduoduo payment is preventing the order from moving at all, review the Pinduoduo payment options for overseas buyers instead; payment and tracking require different troubleshooting.

A practical escalation checklist

Before contacting support, prepare:

  • Pinduoduo order number and seller name.
  • Product and quantity.
  • Chinese domestic tracking number.
  • Warehouse package number, if used.
  • International tracking number and carrier.
  • Destination country and postal code.
  • Last tracking event with date and location.
  • Screenshots of any exception or document request.

Ask one specific question: Which carrier currently has the parcel, what is the next expected checkpoint, and is any action required from the sender or recipient?

That question is more useful than asking only when the parcel will arrive. A tracking status identifies the current stage; the carrier or responsible service provider must confirm the next action.
