How to Write a Luxembourg Delivery Address for a Parcel from China: Home Address or PackUp?

A practical address checklist for parcels from China to Luxembourg: choose home delivery or a POST PackUp point, use the correct layout, and avoid address data that carriers cannot match.

How to Write a Luxembourg Delivery Address for a Parcel from China: Home Address or PackUp?

A Luxembourg address is not just a city and postcode copied from a checkout form. Before a seller in China prints a label, decide where the parcel should be delivered: your home or a POST Luxembourg PackUp point. Then write the address in the format used by the selected delivery method. This small choice can prevent a parcel from being labelled with incomplete or conflicting information.

Address information checked 25 October 2026. Carrier acceptance, tracking events and final delivery are outside YDA Express’s control. Confirm the final address with the recipient and the carrier before dispatch.

Step 1: choose home delivery or PackUp

Choose home delivery when someone can receive the parcel at the residential address and the address is complete. Choose PackUp only when the recipient already has the necessary POST Luxembourg PackUp details and has selected a compatible point or station. Do not replace a home address with a PackUp point name just because it appears convenient.

POST Luxembourg publishes different layouts for standard geographic addresses and PackUp addresses. Use the POST address-writing guide for a home address and the official PackUp address guide for a PackUp delivery.

Home delivery: copy the address in a clean, separate-line layout

For a normal Luxembourg home address, POST’s example follows this structure:

Recipient name
House number, street name
L-POSTCODE LOCALITY
LUXEMBOURG

Example format only:

Jean Schmit
71, route du Vin
L-1234 DUDELANGE
LUXEMBOURG

Keep each element on its own line, avoid putting delivery notes into the postcode line, and do not invent abbreviations. The official guidance asks for a clear, left-aligned address with no more than six lines. A seller’s checkout field may combine these lines; in that case, preserve the same order and keep the postcode with the locality.

Before you submit an order, check:

  • recipient’s name matches the person who can collect or receive it;
  • street number and street name are both present;
  • the Luxembourg postcode begins with L- when the form allows it;
  • locality is written after the postcode;
  • country is set to Luxembourg, not a neighbouring country;
  • telephone and email are current for carrier contact.

PackUp: do not use a station name alone

A PackUp address needs more than the code of a locker or point. POST Luxembourg’s official template includes the recipient’s name, the customer’s PackUp number, the recipient’s home street address, and the selected PackUp point or station code with the residence locality.

Use the official template rather than guessing the line order:

Title, first name and surname
PackUp customer number
House number and home street
PackUp point or station code
L-POSTCODE locality of residence
LUXEMBOURG

Important: a PackUp point’s own postcode is not a substitute for your residence locality in the POST format. If the recipient has not provided a PackUp customer number and confirmed code, use a complete home-delivery address instead.

Information that should never be guessed

Do not make up a postcode, a PackUp number, an apartment number, a station code, or a phone number to satisfy a form. If information is missing, pause before dispatch and ask the recipient to copy the address from a current POST Luxembourg source or their PackUp account.

A logistics warehouse can print the address you provide, but it cannot validate personal access rights to a PackUp service or correct an ambiguous residential address after the parcel is in transit.

Prepare the China-side label correctly

If several China sellers are shipping to a consolidation warehouse, keep the recipient’s Luxembourg delivery address associated with the final forwarding order—not as a random note on individual domestic parcels. You can first use YDA’s China warehouse packing guide for carton and label instructions, then follow the parcel consolidation guide when combining seller parcels.

For address-sensitive shipments, send YDA the address in copyable text, not only as a screenshot. Include recipient name, telephone, email, address lines, destination country, and, when applicable, PackUp customer number and confirmed location code. Do not include unnecessary identity documents in a shipping note.

If the parcel is part of a household move rather than a routine purchase, do not mix new purchases with used household effects. Read our guide to moving personal belongings from China to Luxembourg before the warehouse closes the cartons.

YDA Express scope

Final address checklist

  • Delivery method chosen: home or confirmed PackUp.
  • Recipient name, phone and email are current.
  • Home street, number, postcode and locality are present.
  • For PackUp, customer number and selected code came from the recipient.
  • Address is supplied as text and checked once more before dispatch.
